You can be a pilot. We prepare candidates for FAA certification in one of the most beautiful & weather friendly places on the planet. Hawaii is a unique place to earn your wings, and HFA can take you from zero experience to commercial experience at a pace that YOU decide.

Use Your Wings In Hawaii
You are a licensed pilot, and come all the way to Hawaii? Don’t swim another stroke- FLY!!! Schedule a check out in one of our 172’s and really see Hawaii. The Big Island is a mysterious, and fun place to fly. Two options for you:
1. Go up with an experienced instructor for the check out, then rent the plane out for fun. This check out assures HFA your are indeed prepared for this environment, airspace and equipment.
2. Go up with an instructor/ guide pilot and keep it that way. These pilots are commercial pilots that regularly fly guided tours around the island. Simply exchange controls when you are ready to take pictures. This will relieve any stress associated with your PIC responsibilities.
What ever the case, take the initiative. Experience Hawaii from a pilot’s view. Be sure to bring along your license, ID, and logbook!

International Students
HFA is M-1 (vocational student in training) Visa authorized. The US entry process is regulated by several distinct US Government agencies. Call HFA first as we will initiate the Security and SEVIS process for you, then guide you through subsequent steps.

FAA approved simulators are our obviously valuable tools.

Computer Assisted Testing Service Hawaii Flight Academy has the approved computers, class rooms and personnel to administer all FAA written examinations.

Degrees Online
Academic degrees are earned at Hawaii Flight Academy via our online affiliation with the Utah Valley State University. They have very good online courses.
